Two men arrested after gunshots fired in Luton car park
Police are appealing for information as investigations continue
Two men have been arrested following reports of gunshots fired at Lewsey Sports Park and Pool in Luton on Friday night.
Bedfordshire Police were called to the car park in Pastures Way at around 10pm on 19th December after receiving reports of gunfire.
No victims have been identified, and authorities do not believe anyone was injured in the incident.
Police conducted a series of warrants across Luton and a village north of the town on Sunday, leading to the arrest of two men, aged 25 and 21, on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiracy to murder. Both men remain in custody.
To reassure the public, officers have stepped up patrols near the site of the reported gunshots.
Part of the car park was also cordoned off for searches, and CCTV footage has been recovered.
Detective Inspector Jon Wheeler of Bedfordshire Police said officers are seeking further evidence that could help identify those involved.
"We're particularly keen to hear from anyone who was driving near the area and has dashcam footage of the incident or activity before or after the shots were fired," Wheeler said.
