Three dead after crash in Wheathampstead
An investigation is underway
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal crash in Wheathampstead that resulted in the deaths of three men.
The incident, which occurred on Cory Wright Way at 9.38pm on 22nd July 2026, involved a silver Vauxhall Astra and a grey BMW 840i.
Three male passengers, aged in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, were travelling in the Astra and were pronounced dead at the scene.
While formal identification is pending, their next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the BMW, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains under medical care.
Detective Constable Lewis Stanley from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit conveyed condolences to the families affected.
Stanley stated, "They are being supported by our specialist officers at this incredibly distressing time."
Police are continuing their investigation and urge those who witnessed the crash to come forward.
"If you saw what happened and are yet to speak to police, please report it," Stanley added.
He encouraged anyone with a dash cam who was in the area to review their footage and submit anything relevant via the online Digital Media Asset Management System (DAMS).
