A lorry collided with a pedestrian on the A602 Hitchin Road this morning.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in Stevenage.
The incident took place on A602 Hitchin Road in the town in the early hours of this morning, at around 3.15am. A lorry, which had been travelling along the road towards the A1, was in collision with a male pedestrian near to Sainsburys.
The man, aged 43 and from Borehamwood, was treated at the scene by paramedics. He was then transferred to hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries. Police have informed his next of kin and are being supported by specialist officers.
Road closures were put in place on the Hitchin Road between the Coreys Mill roundabout and Junction 8 of the A1(M), so the lorry could be recovered and road crash investigators could attend the scene.
Sergeant Dan Cook from the Road Policing Unit said: “We are appealing for anyone who was driving in the area at the time with a dash cam in operation, to get in touch. We would also like to hear from anyone who saw the collision, or the lorry or pedestrian prior to it.”
