Police are investigating after a man was found in Luton with life-threatening injuries, believed to have been sustained prior to a car crash.

Officers were called to Beadlow Road at around 8.50pm on 27th January to reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a grey Vauxhall Astra.

When police arrived, they discovered the driver, a man in his 60s, with significant injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Detectives are calling for information to help establish the circumstances leading to his injuries.

Detective Inspector Stephanie Garfitt, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry to establish the circumstances that led to these injuries and appealing to anyone with information, particularly to help us identify where and how the injuries were inflicted.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed a grey Vauxhall Astra in the area around the time of the incident, or who may have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage of the vehicle travelling.

"Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be crucial in helping us fully understand what happened.”
