Police charge two men in connection with St Albans robbery

A man was robbed of his phone and cash on Hatfield Road last month.

Police have charged two men following a robbery with an imitation firearm in St Albans.

On Thursday 2nd of April at around 4.30pm, a man in his 20s was stood by his vehicle in Hatfield Road when he was approached by four male suspects. They reportedly threatened him with weapons and assaulted him. The man's mobile phone and cash were stolen before the suspects left the scene in a black Mercedes.

Following an investigation, Myles Judd, aged 27, of Forest Drive, Ongar, Essex, has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to commit robbery.
  • Possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.
  • Possession or control of identity documents with intent.

Judd has been remanded in custody and will appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday 5 May.

Louis Laimable, aged 38, of Hornchurch Road, Hornchurch, London, has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to commit robbery.
  • Possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
  • Being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug (cannabis).
  • Possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation.

He has been released on court bail and is also due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday 5 May.

A 29-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and conspiracy to commit robbery. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Lewis Allingham, from St Albans CID, said: “Incidents of this nature are taken extremely seriously, and I would like to reassure the public that this appears to be an isolated incident. We have been working hard to identify the suspects and secure charges. If anyone has any information and is yet to speak to police, please don’t hesitate to contact us.”
