Bedfordshire Police is appealing for witnesses following a suspected road rage incident involving an imitation firearm.

The incident took place at around 4pm on Sunday (12 April 2026) on the A4146 in Leighton Buzzard near McDonalds, following a driving disagreement.

Police say during the incident, the driver of black BMW X6 is believed to have pointed a firearm towards the driver’s side window of a silver Mercedes-Benz C Class.

Detective Constable Mikolaj Marcjan, investigating, said: “While emotions can run high on the road, there is never any justification for threatening behaviour.

“An imitation firearm was seized, and one man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence and has since been bailed while enquiries continue.

“We believe there were numerous witnesses in other cars at the time of the incident who may have CCTV dashcam footage that could assist our investigation.”
