Man left with life-threatening injuries after collision in Royston

Police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage following Old North Road collision.

A 27-year-old man has suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision in Royston on Friday 5th December 2025.

The incident occurred on Old North Road between 10.30pm and 11.10pm, involving a blue Vauxhall Vivaro and a pedestrian.

Emergency services attended, and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Arrest made

Shortly after the collision, police arrested a 29-year-old man from Royston in connection with the incident. He remains in custody as investigations continue.

Police appeal for information

Detective Inspector Jon Leak, leading the investigation, has appealed for public assistance:

“I am appealing for any information from members of the public who might have witnessed this incident.

“If you saw the incident take place or saw anything that happened prior to the incident, please contact police.

“If you have a dashcam fitted and were driving in the area at the time, please check it as you may have captured some important footage which could assist with our investigation. This can be uploaded via herts.police.uk/dashcamupload.”
