An investigation is underway in Luton after a man was assaulted with a brick in broad daylight.

Bedfordshire Police say a man was assaulted at around 4pm on Sunday (19 April) by a group of males while he was waiting to be picked up on Ash Road.

During the attack one of the suspects assaulted the victim with a brick, leaving him with serious injuries.

Detective Constable Tilly Rolt, investigating, said: “This was a brazen attack carried out in broad daylight while the victim was waiting for a lift.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time, saw what happened, or noticed a large group of males acting suspiciously, to contact police so we can fully investigate the circumstances and locate those responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
