Man dies after crashing into safety barrier on M1 in Bedfordshire

Police want to hear from witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single vehicle accident on the M1 in Bedfordshire on Sunday, 8th March.

The incident occurred on the northbound carriageway between junctions 12 and 13, involving a grey heavy tractor unit colliding with the road safety barrier.

Emergency services arrived at approximately 9am, but unfortunately, a man in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

Detective Constable Felicity Walker, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Walker appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or who may possess dashcam footage related to the events leading up to the incident to assist in the investigation.
