Combine harvester fire spreads across 55 acres in Buckinghamshire
Crews from multiple areas work to contain the blaze
A large fire involving a combine harvester spread across approximately 55 acres of cut crop in Moulsoe in Buckinghamshire.
Firefighters were called out shortly after 6pm on Sunday (19 July) and crews from Broughton, Newport Pagnell, West Ashland, Woburn, and Mereway attended, supported by three officers.
Firefighters utilised a range of equipment to tackle the flames, including breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, a water carrier, and water from a farmer’s bowser.
A wildfire unit was deployed as crews worked in an offensive mode to contain the fire and protect the surrounding environment.
To aid in controlling the spread, firefighters carried out a 360-degree perimeter inspection and collaborated with the landowner, who created a fire break.
Efforts continued with damping down and turning over to extinguish any remaining hotspots.
