Central Bedfordshire garden waste collections paused for winter
Winter break begins 30th November with resumes planned for 22nd February
Garden waste collections in Central Bedfordshire will take a winter pause from 30th November 2026 until 19th February 2027, with services resuming on 22nd February.
The final collections before the winter break will occur during the week beginning 16th November or 23rd November, depending on local schedules. Residents can check collection dates online.
Other waste and recycling services will run as usual during the garden waste pause.
Managing garden waste during the winter break can be done through several methods:
Residents can recycle garden waste at four local Household Waste Recycling Centres, open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, even on bank holidays, with online booking available.
Reusable garden waste sacks are available for purchase; residents can buy up to five 55-litre sacks for £7.32 each for transporting waste to the recycling centres. However, these sacks cannot be used for kerbside collections.
Those with space are advised to consider home composting to turn garden waste into compost.
