Wycombe Wanderers have signed 27-year-old winger Andre Vidigal following a trial period with the club.

Vidigal joins the Chairboys as a free agent, having left Stoke City at the start of January after making 43 appearances for the side over two seasons.

Capped by Portugal at youth levels before earning a senior international cap for Angola last year, Vidigal began his career in Portugal with Academica. He went on to enjoy success in various leagues, including winning promotion with Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands, claiming titles with APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus, and earning Young Player of the Year while helping Estoril secure a league win in Portugal's second tier.

After two seasons at Maritimo, Vidigal moved to Stoke City where he worked with Wycombe Wanderers’ coaches Alex Morris and David Hibbert. He reunited with them last month to begin training with the squad at Marlow Road.

Director of Football Strategy and Data Intelligence Tom Stockwell said: “We are delighted to welcome Andre to the club until the end of the season. Andre has been with us for the last couple of weeks, and seeing his quality on the training pitch we are sure he can help us in the second half of the season."

“With experience in Portugal, Netherlands and England already, Andre has shown his ability to adapt and be successful in different environments. With his most recent experiences in the Championship we are confident Andre is ready to hit the ground running.

“Andre will be in contention for the squad this weekend against Doncaster and we look forward to seeing him in action soon.”

The transfer remains subject to EFL and FA approval, as well as confirmation of Vidigal's visa.
