Her albums

‘Katy Hudson’

Katy’s first ever album was called ‘Katy Hudson’ after her real name. The album was released in 2001 and featured music very different to what she is known for. It was Christian rock music.

‘One of the Boys’

‘One of the Boys’ was the first album released under the name Katy Perry. It was released in 2008 and featured some of the singer’s biggest tracks from that era, including ‘I Kissed a Girl’, ‘Waking Up in Vegas’ and ‘Hot n Cold’.

In 2018, Katy admitted she would re-write the lyrics to 'I Kissed a Girl' if she wrote it in that year. The song has been criticised in the past by the LGBTQ community for 'trivialising bisexuality and gender stereotypes'.

In an interview, Katy told Glamour: "We've really changed, conversationally, in the past 10 years. We've come a long way. Bisexuality wasn't as talked about back then, or any type of fluidity."

She admitted: "If I had to write that song again, I probably would make an edit on it. Lyrically, it has a couple of stereotypes in it. Your mind changes so much in 10 years, and you grow so much. What's true for you can evolve."

'Teenage Dream'

The album was released on 24th August 2010 and included huge tracks such as 'California Gurls', 'Teenage Dream' and 'Firework'. It reached Number 1 on the UK Album Chart.

In August 2023, Katy took to Instagram to mark the 13th anniversary of her third studio album, 'Teenage Dream'. Sharing a series of snaps to her page, Katy wrote: 'today #TeenageDream becomes a teen #13yearsofteenagedream 🍭 💗 🎇 👽 😬 💔 💪🏼 ☁️.'

In May 2026, the album was certified 7x Platinum by the BPI - translating to over 2.4 MILLION sales in the UK alone. What a feat!

‘Prism’

Featuring hits such as ‘Roar’, ‘Dark Horse’ and ‘Birthday’, ‘Prism’ was Katy’s fourth album. It was released in 2013, going Platinum in the UK the following year, selling more than 300k units.

The lyrics for 'Roar' are about overcoming challenges, even when someone puts you down.

'I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath / Scared to rock the boat and make a mess / So I sat quietly, agreed politely / I guess that I forgot I had a choice / I let you push me past the breaking point / I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything

'You held me down, but I got up (hey) / Already brushing off the dust / You hear my voice, you hear that sound / Like thunder, gonna shake the ground / You held me down, but I got up (hey) / Get ready 'cause I've had enough / I see it all, I see it now'.

‘Witness’

‘Witness’ was the album that featured ‘Swish Swish’ with Nicki Minaj, ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ with Skip Marley and ‘Bon Appetit’ with Migos. The album has now been certified Gold in the UK, selling more than 100k units.

We were lucky to get the singer in to exclusively perform three acoustic versions of tracks from 'Witness'. Here's Katy singing her huge hit 'Chained To The Rhythm'.

'Smile'

‘Smile’ was released on 28th August 2020 and featured her songs 'Never Really Over', 'Harleys in Hawaii', and 'Daisies'. The record explores themes of resilience, self-acceptance, and joy after hardship.

The most popular songs from the album were 'Never Really Over' which was certified Platinum in the UK, selling more than 600k unites and 'Daisies' which was certified Silver in the UK, selling 200k units.

‘143’

Katy's studio album '143' was released on 20th September 2024. It was her sixth under the name ‘Katy Perry’ and seventh overall. It featured 11 songs, including her comeback hit 'Woman's World', and her dancefloor filler 'Lifetimes'. It was supported by her ‘Lifetimes Tour’, which is now a concert film.

Does she write her own songs?

Katy Perry does write or co-write her songs, some of her most popular songs include 'Roar', 'The One That Got Away' and 'Dark Horse'.

'Roar' was the lead single released from album 'Prism', in 2013. The song was co-written with Bonnie McKee, who has also worked on a number of other songs including 'California Gurls', 'Teenage Dream', 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)', 'Part of Me', and 'Wide Awake'.

Has she been into space?

Yes, she has, albeit just for a few minutes. In April 2025, Katy joined an all-female crew to go into space aboard New Shepard, a Blue Origin rocket. The event was live streamed around the world and saw Katy and the rest of the crew launch into space on a trip that lasted just 10.5 minutes with around four minutes technically in space.

Katy's footwear range

Katy does have her own footwear range. Katy originally launched Katy Perry Collections in 2017, but in 2022 she relaunched the brand, which she now owns outright. Speaking about her decision to take over the brand fully she said: "I had the opportunity to either let my brand kind of slowly fade away into nothingness, or take on the challenge and bet on myself, as I do most of the time, and just up my game and really mean what I say when I say I want to be that boss ass b—h."

She went on to say: "I’m excited because (spring) is my favourite season when everything starts to come back to life and we thaw out. I am a product of the sun and I am a California girl. I want to get that pedicure and I want to let my feet breathe and look cute in gingham and pastels. Anything Easter-themed is my vibe."

In June 2026, the official website now says: 'Stay tuned for what's next', with no indication if or when she will be releasing more footwear.

How tall is she?

Information on Katy Perry's height is a bit confused on the internet, but the general consensus is somewhere between 5ft 7in and 5ft 8in.

Have Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom split?

These two were one of our fave celeb couples and gave us serious couple goals when they got together in 2016, and our hearts broke when they split in 2017 with a joint statement, saying: 'Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.'

However, after being spotted kissing at an Ed Sheeran concert, it looked as though things were seriously back on, and Katy said on This Morning Mashup: "Well, you know, I think people are in and out of your life. It’s nice to keep people you love around you."

The pair were on-off for a few years, but announced their engagement on Valentine's Day in 2019 with a beautiful Instagram post.

The couple went on to welcome their daughter Daisy together in 2020, and were forced to postpone their wedding due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

HOWEVER, fast-forward to July 2025 and Katy and Orlando had called time on their relationship.

After weeks of rumours, a representative told Mail Online: "Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is - and always will be - raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect."

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau

In December 2025, Katy went Instagram Official with Justin Trudeau. Katy shared a loved-up photo of the couple along with photos and videos from her time in Japan, where she was performing on her 'Lifetimes Tour'. The singer also shared a cute black and white video of herself trying some Japanese food, with Justin sitting next to her.

How many kids does she have?

Katy has one daughter called Daisy, with Orlando Bloom. On 5th March 2020, Katy dropped the music video for her single 'Never Worn White', in which she confirmed she was expecting her first child.

She wore a number of spectacular outfits in the video, including a stunning white gown, where she cradles her adorable baby bump. The singer told fans on social media, 'Let’s just say it’s gonna be a jam packed summer... 🎶♥️🙂 #NeverWornWhite is out now'. (sic)

The arrival of Daisy Dove in August 2020 was announced using their platform as Goodwill Ambassadors for Unicef.

Katy also revealed that she'd received a beautiful baby gift from her former frenemy Taylor Swift - a hand-embroidered baby blanket to welcome the birth of Daisy Dove!
