Start date announced for This City Is Ours series two

Following the huge first series last year, the BBC wasted no time in recommissioning crime drama This City Is Ours for a second instalment! The show, which features the likes of Julie Graham, James Nelson-Joyce and Jack McMullen, wrapped filming earlier this year, and now bosses have finally confirmed a start date.

When does This City Is Ours start?

The BBC has now confirmed series two of This City Is Ours will begin on Sunday 25th October. at 9pm.

New episodes will air every Sunday and Monday nights at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

After filming for the second series wrapped in April this year, the first teaser trailer and first look photos were released to ramp up excitement for series two.

The BBC say of the second series plot: 'Picking up from where things were left at the end of series one, Michael and Diana have barely arrived in Spain when they are dragged back into the fold to answer questions around Ricardo’s death. Back in Liverpool, tensions continue to bubble amongst the remaining members of the gang. Meanwhile, an old school gangster from Ronnie's era, recently out of prison, wants compensation from the firm'.

As well as the usual faces from series one, including James Nelson-Joyce, Hannah Onslow, Julie Graham, Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Laura Aikman, the second series also sees new cast member Shaun Evans as former gangster Ozzie Thompson, as well as Money Heist actor Álvaro Morte, who will play Felipe Guzman, a member of the Colombian cartel and younger brother of Ricardo, who was murdered at the end of the first series.
