Charli XCX releases her 'Wuthering Heights' album featuring 12 songs
It arrived on the same day as the film
'brat' singer Charli XCX has released her album 'Wuthering Heights' on the same day the film of the same name arrives in cinemas. The new adaptation, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, was directed by Emerald Fennell, who previously directed Saltburn and the Academy Award-winning Promising Young Woman.
Charli's album features 12 songs written for the feature film and includes songs such as: 'Wall Of Sound', 'Chains Of Love' and 'Eyes of the World'.
Just hours before the release of her new music, Charli shared photos of herself and told fans on Instagram: 'My album Wuthering Heights is out at midnight. Thank you so much to Emerald Fennell for trusting me to make songs for your adaptation of one of the greatest love stories of all time. I couldn’t have made this album without Finn Keane, Sky Ferreira, Joe Keery, Justin Raisen and of course John Cale. Thank you for your contributions to this album, for your words, your writing, your playing, your production. Collaborating with all of you was a dream come true. Elegant and brutal xxx'. (sic)
Star of the latest adaptation, Margot Robbie spoke to Hits Radio's Olivia Marks where she revealed details about a hilarious deleted scene.
Speaking about what films their character's favourite romance films would be, the cast unanimously agreed that if any of them saw a film they would "immediately combust", before revealing a risqué scene that didn't make the cut.
While Margot said her character Cathy would "only like movies where she could identify herself as the main character", Olivia added Isabella would "try and find movies with loads of sex scenes."
"There was a scene where she was sort of reading a sexy book at one point," Olivia began, before Margot clarifies: "Yeah, Emerald (Fennell) found 18th Century p-rn... and the scene didn't make the movie but it was like Isabella saying her prayers before bed, and then getting to bed and pulling out this 18th Century p-rn - which exists, it's really weird."
