Amelia Dimoldenberg announces the end of Chicken Shop Date
One final series is coming!
Since it first launched back in 2014, Amelia Dimoldenberg's Chicken Shop Date YouTube series has become a global phenomenon, with guests such as Maya Jama, Sean Paul, Aitch, JADE, Ed Sheeran, Shania Twain and Zara Larsson to name a few.
But after 115 incredible episodes, Amelia has now announced the end of the series, in an emotional Instagram post.
She wrote: 'When I was 17 I had a fantastic idea that I might meet the love of my life on a date in a chicken shop.
'I’ve spent my entire twenties sitting across from the most incredible people, people I’d always dreamt of meeting. All of them charmed me (some more than others) and I definitely charmed them.
'To me the show is my very own romcom and I have loved creating so many stories for you to watch. I am so grateful to everyone who has followed me on this journey and found some joy in these episodes.
'I never thought I’d stop Chicken Shop Date, I thought maybe it would be a part of me forever, and in some way it always will, but I feel like it’s now time to move on from this adventure and onto a new one.
'But before I say goodbye forever, I want to celebrate everything Chicken Shop Date has been for me with a few final dates…coming very soon.
'Love Amelia x'. (sic)
After seeing her post, friends and fans of the 32-year-old were quick to comment, with former KISS presenter Perri Kiely writing: 'You really paved the way! Congratulations man 🙌🏽❤️'.
A devastated fan then commented: 'THIS IS A SENSITIVE TOPIC TO ME 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔', with another writing: 'THE END OF AN ERA 😢'. (sic)
Somebody else wrote: 'I might as well just delete YouTube now 💔🥀', with another adding: 'this is worse than my last breakup'.
Will there be any more episodes of Chicken Shop Date?
One silver lining is that Amelia has confirmed Chicken Shop Date will return for a final series before it comes to an end.
It's not yet known which famous faces will appear, but so far this year, Conan O'Brien, Paul McCartney and Zara Larsson have featured.
