Second teenager arrested over major fire at disused school in Haverhill

A second teenager has been arrested following a large fire at the former Parkway Middle School in Haverhill, prompting ongoing police inquiries.
The fire service alerted police to the incident at around 8.46pm on 12th May, at the site located on Park Road.
The latest arrest involves a 14-year-old boy detained on suspicion of criminal damage, specifically arson not endangering life.
The teenager was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has been bailed to return to police on 14th July.
This follows the earlier arrest of a 15-year-old boy on 13th May, also on suspicion of the same offence, who has been bailed to return to police on 22nd June.
Detective Sergeant Paul Cappleman highlighted the seriousness of the incident, stating that more individuals may be involved.
He urged anyone with information to come forward, as local witnesses may offer details vital to understanding what transpired.
