The family of a South Yorkshire boy - who died after getting sent home from A & E - will meet with the Health Secretary later.

5-year-old Yusuf Nazir passed at Sheffield Children's Hospital in November 2022.

Yusuf died 8 days after he was sent home with anti-biotics from Rotherham Hospital due to a 'lack of beds' following a severe bout of tonsilitis.

This morning - Yusuf's family will meet with Wes Streeting in London at the Department of Health & Social Care.

Yusuf's uncle - Zaheer Ahmed - doesn't want any other family to suffer like they have:

"For us it's very important that people learn from their mistakes.

"It's all about making sure that this doesn't happen to any other child or any other family.

"Things are getting implemented and taken very seriously, which is really good to see.

"It wasn't difficult to get this meeting with Wes Streeting because he's always been very supportive of the family."

The meeting is due to go ahead from 9.45am - & will focus on a report into Yusuf's care released back in July of this year.
