Thousands of music fans came to the Peak District at the weekend for the annual Y Not Festival.

And while they were watching performances from the likes of The Prodigy, Courteeners and Madness, officers were also on site making sure that everyone could enjoy the event safely.

Derbyshire Police worked in partnership with the organisers of the festival, held near Pikehall, as well as security teams and other agencies in the lead up to, during and after the event to make sure that all those who went along had a fun and safe time.

Uniformed officers patrolled the site and were supported by our drugs experts and licensing teams throughout the weekend, speaking to those who were there and offering advice and support to anyone who needed it.

Divisional Commander Chief Superintendent Emma Aldred, Police Commander for the festival, said:

“Y Not Festival is such a popular family friendly event set in a beautiful location and it was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves over the weekend.

“I would like to thank all those who attended, the local community, Y Not organisers, partners and all the police officers and staff who helped to make this year’s event a great success.

“I’m pleased to say that once again, reported incidents and crimes were low this year for an event of this size and nature.

“I hope all those who attended at the weekend have now recovered and are looking forward to doing it all again next year.”
