A woman was bitten on the arm during the incident late last year
A woman is due in court charged over an incident where an out of control XL Bully dog had to be shot dead by police in Sheffield.
30 year old Sophie Zaherali, of Dykes Hall Road, is due before Sheffield Magistrates Court in March accused of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and allowing a fighting dog to be in a public place without a lead or muzzle.
Officers responded to reports of a loose dog in the Hillsborough area on December 7.
A woman was allegedly bitten on the arm, with another person who was walking another dog being menaced by the animal.
Officers made the decision to shoot the pet in order to keep the public safe.
