Woman attacked on train near to Doncaster
A 24-year-old woman has been punched and kicked by a man on a train through South Yorkshire.
It on Saturday morning between Newark Northgate and Doncaster.
Officers are urging anyone who saw what happened to contact them.
A statement from the British Transport Police said:
"Officers investigating an assault on a train travelling from London to Scotland are appealing for witnesses.
"At around 11.20am on Saturday 2 August, a 24-year-old woman was punched several times and kicked by a male. Several people came to the woman’s aid as the male fled to another part of the train.
"The incident happened on a London King’s Cross to Aberdeen service, whilst the train was travelling between Newark Northgate and Doncaster.
"The suspect is described as white, around 15-20 years-old, of slim build with short brown hair. He was wearing a light blue baseball cap, black jacket, white t-shirt with black writing on the front and black shorts.
"Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to text BTP on 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 230 of 2 August."
