Two more people have been arrested in connection with a fight with weapons in Page Hall, Sheffield, on Monday.

The disorder occurred on Firth Park Road, where a large group armed with sticks and poles was involved in the fight at around 4:30pm.

The group scattered as soon as police arrived.

A 17-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man were taken into custody yesterday on suspicion of violent disorder.

They join five other men, aged 19, 31, 35, 37, and 53, who were previously arrested on suspicion of the same offence.

Sheffield Chief Superintendent Jamie Henderson of South Yorkshire Police said:

“Following these latest arrests, we are working at pace to identify all those involved in the disorder with a view to taking further enforcement action."

“Enhanced police patrols will continue in the Page Hall area to provide reassurance to residents who will rightly be concerned by Monday’s incident."
