Two men have been jailed for their part in the death of a Doncaster man.
53-year-old Jason Gaskin died following an attack outside a social club in Doncaster in October 2023.
It happened outside Park Social Working Men's Club.
The court heard excessive drinking had taken place during a 'lock in'.
The Judge said this led to mindless violence.
At Sheffield Crown Court Jake Wells, aged 27 of Balby who was previously found guilty of manslaughter has been sentenced to four years and nine months in prison.
49-year-old James Neeson, also of Balby for, has been sentenced to nine months in jail for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Adam Watkinson, from South Yorkshire's Major Crime Unit, said:
“This was a devastating attack which led to the death of a much-loved father, grandfather, and husband.
“Neeson’s attempt to cover up his and Wells’ involvement in Jason’s death showed a total lack of remorse and accountability.
“Fortunately, officers were quick to recover the vital evidence and both men now face justice for their crimes.”
