Police seek victim and witnesses of train assault in South Yorkshire
A woman on board a train between Swinton and Mexborough was punched
Officers are appealing for the victim as well as witnesses of an assault on-board a train in South Yorkshire to come forward.
It happened just before 5pm on Sunday (December 14) on a train travelling from Swinton to Mexborough.
A man boarded the train at Swinton and assaulted a woman by punching her and pulling her hair.
The victim exited the train at Mexborough, while other passengers intervened and forced the man off the train at Conisborough.
The man later boarded another train to Doncaster, where he was met by officers and arrested for affray and assaulting an emergency service worker.
Officers from British Transport Police are urging the woman who was assaulted, as well as any passengers who witnessed the incident or stepped in to help, to get in touch.
