Two women arrested after man's body discovered in disused Sheffield restaurant

Two women have been arrested after the discovery of a man's body inside a disused restaurant in Sheffield.

The women, aged 35 and 54, are being questioned on suspicion of murder after police responded to reports of suspicious activity at the former TGI Fridays on Sheffield Road on Wednesday.

The 55 year old who was found dead hasn't been identified, though his family have been informed/

The area around the building is expected to remain cordoned off until this evening.

Detective Chief Inspector Laura Procter, of South Yorkshire Police, said: "Officers have been conducting various enquiries since the man's body was sadly found, with the aim of building up a full picture of the circumstances which led up to this incident."

"I am particularly keen for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area around the TGI Fridays building in the days leading up to Wednesday, to get in touch with us.

"We will continue to work hard to get answers, and this has included arresting two women who remain in custody for questioning.

"If you have any information which you think could help us, no matter how big or small, please come forward."
