An investigation is underway after a 14 year old was stabbed in Sheffield

Police were called to Woodhouse last night - they say the teenager was attacked in Market Square.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A Police statement said: "We were called at 9.52pm yesterday evening (Wednesday 18 March) following a report that a 14-year-old boy had been stabbed in Market Square, in the Woodhouse area of Sheffield.

"He was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

"A scene remains in place in Market Square as officers carry out further enquiries."
