A South Yorkshire Police Community Support Officer is due in court charged with assault, after an incident outside Doncaster's Frenchgate Shopping Centre earlier this year.

55 year old PCSO Paula Fox is due before Sheffield Magistrates Court tomorrow accused of assault by beating.

It comes after an incident on February 27 this year where a man was being detained outside the shopping centre.

PCSO Fox allegedly kicked him between the legs, with members of the public later submitting a complain.

The IOPC investigated, with the Crown Prosecution Service authorising the charge.
