An ex-South Yorkshire Police officer is to face a misconduct hearing later this month, accused of several offences against an ex partner.

Former PS Matthew Mitchell is accused of using unnecessary force against his ex-partner, in the presence of their 4-year-old child, on November 28 2023.

He is also accused of sending distressing messages to his ex on March 21 2024.

The hearing, to be held in Sheffield from March 30 to April 2, will consider whether his alleged behaviour amounted to 'Discreditable Conduct.'

It's understood Mitchell has since left the force.
