Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian suffered 'life altering' injuries in a crash in Swallownest.

A pedestrian was hit by a van on Treeton Lane at around 11:17am on Monday (January 26).

It is reported that the green Iveco Daily van struck the 58-year-old pedestrian before leaving the scene, with the victim being taken to hospital.

The driver of the Iveco later returned to the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

Witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the collision are being urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101.
