Snake Pass to close for 18 days in June and July after landslip damage
The key route between Sheffield and Manchester has frequently seen damage from landslips
Part of a key route between Sheffield and Manchester is to close for 18 days next month and in July for repairs.
The A57 Snake Pass will shut between Ladybower Reservoir and Glossop from Monday June 15 until Friday July 3.
It's to allow for investigation work to be carried out on the road, which has long seen damage from landslips.
In a statement on social media High Peak MP Jon Pearce wrote:
"I know this closure will be frustrating for residents, commuters and businesses who rely on this route every day, but the condition of Snake Pass cannot keep being ignored."
