It's feared teenagers in South Yorkshire are becoming 'more self-conscious' about their appearance due to social media.

A Sheffield based skin health clinic tell us they are now seeing more young people come through their doors.

Rebecca Elsdon is from Reskin in Sheffield.

She says they're seeing more teenagers than ever:

"I suppose in some ways social media is a good thing because it allows people to get education out there.

"We're able to get a lot of educational content on social media.

"The downside of this though is all the comparisons young people end up going through because of social media.

"I think there's so much comparison with these unrealistic, filtered photos on social media.

"We also end up treating people who end up experimenting with their own skin at home.

"There's a lot of misinformation out there, so you're always better having a consultation with a professional skin therapist to try and get to the problem of any issues."
