A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two shootings in Sheffield earlier this month.
Shots were fired at an Oxford Street address at 9.42pm on December 13, and again at a block of flats in Edward Street just over 20 minutes later.
Firearms officers attended both scenes and found evidence confirming shots had been fired.
No injuries were reported, but police said a child was in the Oxford Street home at the time and was safeguarded.
Officers arrested the suspect yesterday (December 21) on suspicion of possession of firearms with intent and possession with intent to supply drugs. He remains in custody.
Detective Inspector Claire Moss, of South Yorkshire Police said:
"I am pleased we have made an arrest in connection with these attacks"
"Thankfully, no one was injured, but it could easily have been another tragic occurrence, as we have seen too frequently in South Yorkshire.
"I would like to thank everyone who has supported our investigation so far. We cannot end gun violence alone and we rely on the backing of our communities to help us get these weapons, and those who carry them, off the streets."
