Man charged with attempted murder following Sheffield shooting

A Sheffield man has been charged with attempted murder following a Christmas Day shooting in the city.

Raheel Mahmood, 23, of Elmham Road, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life or allow another to do so.

Emergency services were called to Wilfred Drive in Darnall at 11.27pm on December 25 2025 after a 20-year-old man was reported to have been shot in the chest.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Mahmood has been remanded into custody and will appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
