South Yorkshire Police are appealing for public help in finding a convicted child sex trafficker, who failed to appear at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday.

Sharam Muhamadi, 21, was found guilty yesterday of two counts of arranging or facilitating travel for exploitation.

He was convicted in his absence, following his failure to attend his trial beginning on May 18.

Muhamadi was granted bail before the trial started.

Since his disappearance police say they've reviewed CCTV and phone records in a bid to locate Muhamadi.

He was last seen on May 18 in Birmingham city centre around 9pm.

Assistant Chief Constable Hayley Barnett of South Yorkshire Police

"Our priority has been and will continue to be securing full justice for the victims tragically involved...We are wholly focussed on finding Muhamadi and ensuring his faces the consequences of his actions."

"Anyone who spots Muhamadi is urged not to approach him and to call 999, referencing South Yorkshire Police incident number 610 of 21 May 2026."
