Concerns over how much screen time children in South Yorkshire are having over the summer
It's thought the topic of smartphone use has caused a lot of friction between families so far this year
Concerns are being raised about the amount of time children are spending online during the summer holidays.
New research suggests 9 out of 10 parents argue with their kids about smartphone use.
Anna Sarjantson goes into schools across South Yorkshire to talk about online safety.
She says it's never too late to set up new rules:
"Whether that's putting in boundaries of time, where they can use their device, or what apps and games they're allowed to use and how long for.
"Maybe, children should have to complete certain tasks or jobs before they're allowed access."
Anna also says parents shouldn't shy away from having the conversation around screen time:
"You may notice if your child has had more time online that they're coming offline feeling more grumpy, moody, or over-excited.
"So, just having conversations about screen-time can be a really good opener into the boundaries that you're setting in place."
