Police investigating the circumstances of a fatal shooting in Sheffield have shared a CCTV image.

It happened outside One Four One bar on West Street in Sheffield City Centre in the early hours of Monday.

Detectives are appealing for information about the incident.

They want to hear from anyone who saw a white Audi in the area or a disturbance nearby.

The car is shown in the CCTV image, parked at the junction of Eldon Street and West Hill Street – opposite Tesco Express

Officers say the victim of the shooting, who’s believed to be in her 30s, was an innocent bystander on a night out.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles, who’s the Senior Investigating Officer, said:

“We know there were loads of people in the area, either on a night out or working, who we have yet to speak to – they may have witnessed the incident or something of note beforehand.

“They may be from Sheffield or elsewhere in the country, they may have finished work in the night time economy or be a licensed taxi driver or someone’s lift home.

“If you were in Sheffield in the early hours of Monday, please think back. Please check your photos, social posts, and dash cam for anything which may help us.

“If you weren’t there but want to do your bit to help, please consider sharing this image on your social media channels"

"Anyone who has any information which may assist us to contact South Yorkshire Police or Crimestoppers, anonymously.”
