Rotherham United appoint ex-Aberdeen caretaker Peter Leven as assistant manager

Rotherham United have appointed Peter Leven as their new assistant manager following the departure of Dale Tonge yesterday.

Leven is set to work alongside Lee Clark at the New York, as the Millers fight to remain in League One.

Leven, 42, brings played in midfield during his 15-year career on the pitch, including with Chesterfield between 2007 and 2008.

In coaching, Leven began his role within the Middlesbrough academy and subsequently took on coaching positions at Kilmarnock, Dynamo Brest in Belarus, and Orenburg in Russia.

Most recently, he was part of the coaching setup at Aberdeen, where he served as caretaker manager on several occasions.

Leven was Lee Clark's 'top candidate' following Tonge's departure.
