Pensioner dies after a collision in Doncaster

A pensioner has died after a collision in Doncaster.

Police were called to A630 Doncaster Road on Saturday afternoon.

A Police statement said: "Following a collision over the weekend in Doncaster, an elderly man has died.

"We are appealing for witnesses and those with footage and information to come forward and assist with our investigation following a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and car in Thrybergh.

"On Saturday (13 June), at 1.35pm, roads policing officers responded to A630 Doncaster Road, close to the junction of Poplar Avenue.

"It is understood that a white Kia Pro Creed collided with an 83-year-old pedestrian.

"The victim was taken to hospital, where he sadly later died. His family has been informed and is being supported by officers.

"The driver of the Kia, a 25-year-old woman was arrested at the scene. She has since been released on police bail and is assisting officers with the investigation.

"Officers are keen to hear from any witnesses they have not yet spoken to, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, or the car prior to the collision.
