Sheffield's Our Cow Molly ice cream is so popular they’ve had to move a footpath on the farm

Sheffield City Council’s planning and highways committee agreed on Tuesday, July 21 to divert a footpath away from neighbouring homes off Cliffe Hill.
Councillors heard that the owners of Our Cow Molly paid for the path to be diverted.
A report to the committee said that the footpath became very popular during the Covid pandemic.
It said: “On numerous occasions walkers would linger around the cottages,
even stopping to sit on a garden bench owned by one of the residents, to
consume ice cream.
“To help the residents, the dairy owner (the applicant for this diversion) provided an additional permissive route to encourage walkers
away from the two cottages.
“This has proved a popular alternative, particularly during the summer.”
However, the entrance to the alternative path was extremely muddy,
due to the frequent herding of cattle to and from the field.
The report added: “Following discussions with the dairy owner it was agreed that to alleviate this issue the new public path would be constructed from crushed stone and moved away from the cattle entrance/exit.”
There have been no objections to the change.
Councillor Richard Williams said that the change solves two issues very well.
