Motorcyclist dies after crashing into wall near Belper

A 28-year-old man has died following a motorcycle crash on the outskirts of Belper.

The incident occurred just before 3.30pm yesterday, when the motorcyclist collided with a wall while travelling on Belper Road.

Emergency services arrived promptly and attempted resuscitation efforts on the rider, but sadly, he was pronounced dead.

The man’s family has been informed, and they are being supported by specialist officers during this challenging time.

Derbyshire Police says "our thoughts are with them at this difficult time".

A file is being prepared for the coroner as part of the standard investigation process.

The crash did not involve any other vehicles, and the road was closed temporarily in the afternoon to facilitate emergency response efforts.

It has since been reopened to traffic.
