A brand new clinic to help people with mood disorders has launched in Sheffield, in a first for Yorkshire.

The Seven Hills Research Clinic has been launched at the Longley Centre in Sheffield, offering advanced new treatments for people with depression, bipolar disorder, and generalised anxiety disorder.

It aims to improve access to treatment by providing specialist assessments and opportunities to participate in clinical research trials.

The clinic is part of a formal partnership between the Sheffield Partnership and the University of Sheffield, focusing on transforming mental health, learning disability, and autism services across South Yorkshire.

The Seven Hills Research Clinic is staffed by a team of research-experienced psychiatrists, nurses, and pharmacists.

Eligible adults aged 18 and older can refer themselves by downloading and completing a self-referral form from the clinic’s website.

Following an initial screening call, qualifying patients will be invited to an assessment to discuss potential treatment options.

Dr William Gann, consultant psychiatrist at Sheffield Partnership said:

"Seven Hills has been built on genuine partnership with people who live with mood disorders, and their insight has shaped the service from the ground up."

"Its strategic importance for the Trust and for the region cannot be overstated. We now have a dedicated research clinic in Yorkshire where people can explore new treatments, contribute to pioneering studies and receive high‑quality specialist assessment."
