A fire which ripped through a row of shops and flats in Mexborough on New Year's Eve is being treated as a suspected arson.

Eight fire engines and a turntable ladder were dealing with the blaze, on the High Street, at its height.

A row of shops were ablaze, with the flats above also being impacted.

All people inside were accounted for and nobody was hurt.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze is ongoing.
