Men jailed for total of 125 years for Doncaster attack
Group convicted of attempted murder at Sheffield Crown Court
A group of four men from Rotherham have been sentenced today, 17th April 2026, to a combined total of 125 years in prison for the attempted murder of two individuals in Doncaster.
The violent attack occurred on 18th August 2021 on Bentley Road when the men arrived in a Nissan X-Trail and assaulted the victims.
A 26-year-old man was stabbed and then shot in the abdomen, resulting in serious injuries.
Another man, aged 24, was shot at, with the bullet hitting a phone he held to his ear, resulting in minor injuries.
Emergency services responded, and the victims were hospitalised for their injuries.
An investigation ensued, leading to the arrest and charging of all four men.
Samuel Jebson, 25, and Oliver Jebson, 28, both of Fretwell Road, Callum Rogers, 27, of Beauchamp Road, and Paul Oates, 40, of Western Road, faced charges including attempted murder and conspiring to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Evidence linked to their participation included DNA matches and CCTV footage capturing the attack.
Despite pleading not guilty, they were convicted after a trial at Sheffield Crown Court.
Today they received the following sentences:
Paul Oates received 32 years imprisonment.
Oliver Jebson received 31 years imprisonment.
Sam Jebson received 31 years imprisonment.
Callum Rogers received 31 years imprisonment.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Jones, leading the investigation, commented:
“This was a horrific attack in which both victims were inches just away from suffering fatal injuries.
“These men acted like thugs and there is no place for them or their actions in our community.
“The work of our officers in the course of a protracted investigation to gather evidence and build a watertight case has ensured that the four men will be locked up for years for their chilling crime.
“I am proud of our team and hope that this result provides some closure for both victims.”
