A man has been jailed after stabbing a member of the public in Doncaster.
Ryan Bradley was arrested by officers just 6 minutes after the incident.
A Police statement said:
"Ryan Bradley mindlessly attacked a member of the public in the middle of a street in the Hexthorpe area of Doncaster in August 2025.
"The 34-year-old stabbed his victim multiple times as he got out of a taxi. Bradley then fled and attempted to evade capture by hiding under a van.
"Response officers quickly arrived at the scene and established Bradley's whereabouts, leading to him being detained just minutes after the initial 999 call to police.
"The victim was taken to hospital after suffering injuries that were thankfully not deemed life-threatening or life-changing, namely two cuts to his arm and two cuts to his shoulder.
"With Bradley detained, officers began piecing together evidence from the scene. The knife he used was quickly recovered, along with witness statements and CCTV footage, which captured Bradley carrying out the attack.
"This was cross-referenced with footage from a doorbell camera, which confirmed Bradley as the perpetrator thanks to the distinctive clothing he was wearing at the time.
"Bradley, of Mortimer Road, Maltby, Rotherham, was charged within 24 hours of the assault and, on Monday (5 January), was sentenced to three years in prison at Sheffield Crown Court after pleading guilty to Section 18 – wounding with intent."
Detective Constable James Lockey, who was the officer in charge of the case, said:
"This kind of violence is completely unacceptable, and I am pleased Bradley has now faced justice for his crime.
“From response officers making a swift arrest to a thorough investigation incorporating victim and witness statements and footage obtained through various enquiries, Bradley had no choice but to plead guilty.
“If you are carrying a knife or you use a knife to bring harm to others, then please stop and think about what you're doing and the devastation you could cause. It is never a good idea, and all it does is put not only you but innocent members of the public in danger."
