A man has been remanded into custody after being charged in connection with a shooting in Rotherham.
Emergency services were rushed to Broom Road on Thursday afternoon to reports of gunshots being fire in the area.
29-year-old Edison Muliaj from Bradgate Lane is accused of possessing a firearm to endanger life, violent disorder and having a blade in a public place.
In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said: "Detectives investigating a shooting in Rotherham have charged a Rotherham man.
"Edison Muliaj, 29, of Bradgate Lane appeared before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, violent disorder and possession of a knife/bladed article in a public place.
"He has been remanded into custody and will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on 29 September.
"On Thursday 28 August, at 4.47pm armed officers attended Broom Road following reports of gunshots being fired in the area.
"Officers found evidence consistent with a firearms discharge and an investigation was launched.
"A 33-year-old man arrested last week on suspicion of possession of a firearm has been released on police bail while our investigation continues.
"We continue to urge anyone that believes they have information that can assist officers to get in touch by calling 101 or online, quoting reference number 678 of 28 August 2025."
