An investigation is underway following a stabbing in Doncaster that left a 16-year-old boy with serious injuries.

The incident occurred late on 20th February on Pipering Lane, near the junction with Langdale Drive.

The teenager was found with serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital by emergency services responding swiftly to the scene.

While his injuries are serious, they are not thought to be life-threatening or life-altering at this time.

Shortly after midnight, a 17-year-old boy also attended the hospital with minor knife injuries to his hands.

He has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage in connection with another incident on Amersall Road, currently believed to be linked.

A 51-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Several scenes were in place throughout the morning; however, most have now been stood down, with a remaining cordon at Amersall Road.

Detective Inspector Andrea Smith assured that while there is no immediate risk to the public, the incident has understandably caused concern.

Officers will be present in the area over the next few days to provide reassurance and address any concerns.

The police are appealing for anyone with information to assist their investigation by calling 101 and quoting incident number 1047 of 20th February.
