Demand to watch England World Cup games at South Yorkshire bars going 'off the scale'
It's after Thomas Tuchel's men got off to a winning start earlier this week
Pubs & bars across South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire tell us they've seen demand go 'off the scale' - for England's next World Cup Group game.
It's after the Three Lions' entertaining 4-2 win over Croatia on Wednesday night.
Ethan Oliver-Newman is the Deputy General Manager at the Box sports bar in Sheffield - which has a capacity of 700 & around 30 screens:
"We've had some guests who've attended on Wednesday night and they've booked in straight away now for next Tuesday.
"Our waiting list has more than doubled in size, and I presume that will continue throughout the rest of the tournament.
"The revenue we made on a Wednesday night for the England game - compared to our standard trade - is just incredible.
"The demand has more than doubled overnight really.
"We can't really compare the increase to anything else we experience through the year, and it'll definitely carry on.
"Even the trade from the other games in the World Cup has helped us to make money where we normally wouldn't make money, so it's just great for business.
"All the international tourists that come to the city have also been coming into our venue to watch their team play.
"Everybody is showing their support for hospitality, which is really good for us."
England play Ghana next Tuesday from 9pm in their 2nd World Cup group fixture.
