Three arrested after drone filled with drugs found near HMP Lindholme
The drone was discovered on Tuesday after police chased a suspicious car near the jail.
Three men have been arrested after a drone with a package of contraband was found near a Doncaster prison.
At 10.15pm on Tuesday (August 25) a patrol noticed a black Volvo S60 parked on a dirt track near the Category C HMP Lindholme.
The Volvo moved onto the A614, prompting a chase after failing to stop for police.
During the pursuit, items were thrown from the speeding Volvo, which was eventually stopped on Great Yorkshire Way.
A search of the initial location revealed a drone with a camouflaged parcel containing suspected class A and B drugs, a knife, e-cigarettes, and tobacco.
The parcel was seized for further examination.
Arrests made include a 36-year-old man on suspicion of failure to stop, going equipped, theft from a shop, and attempting to convey a prohibited article into a prison.
Additionally, two 34-year-old men were arrested for offences including dangerous driving, criminal damage, and attempting to convey a prohibited article into a prison.
All three have been bailed.
