Sheffield trio sentenced after conspiring to bring illicit items into HMP Lindholme
They conspired to bring mobile phones, sim cards and USB sticks with extremist material on them into the Category C jail.
Three people from Sheffield have been sentenced over a conspiracy to bring illicit items into HMP Lindholme, Doncaster.
Rhea Wood and Mohammed Abdo, both 36, conspired with serving prisoner, 33 year old Abdullah Mohammed to bring mobile phones, sim cards and USB sticks with extremist material on them into the Category C jail.
Wood and Mohammed were each handed 18 month prison terms wth Mohammed's being suspended for two years.
Abdo has already been jailed for 15 months.
Wood is currently serving a 27 month term for posting videos of ISIS propaganda to a Pintrest account.
Detective Chief Superintendent James Dunkerley, Head of Counter Terrorism Policing North East said:
“Counter Terrorism Policing North East work closely with our partners to investigate and disrupt this kind of activity and I would like to thank the prison staff for their quick actions that ensured the illegal items did not enter the prison.
“The content found on the USB’s and on Wood’s device was extreme, violent and divisive. Anyone seeking to share such material will be brought to justice.
