People in the High Green area of Sheffield are being allowed home this evening after a cordon, put in place amid a police investigation, was lifted.

Tape went up in a 100m radius around a home on Mapplebeck Road earlier this week, in connection with the discovery of suspected explosives.

Officers were first called to the property on Friday, but a further find on Monday night led to Army bomb disposal experts being called in.

Earlier today South Yorkshire Police warned people to make plans to stay elsewhere this evening, but that advice has now been rescinded as the cordon is no longer in place.

Experts have determined there is no wider risk to the public, though investigations at the home will continue.

A 35 year old woman, Rachel Hale, has been remanded into custody after being charged with an offence under the Explosives Act.
